The seasons are changing here in Ga. but they are not as apparent as up north. Went for a ride yesterday and it never fails, someone asks about the BMW R1200S i was riding more than once. Whether it was the sound or the just the look of the machine, obviously not enough of them out there. It's always cool to share the info with folks and then I started wondering about all the other R1200S owners, they go through the same things when they ride I bet.
Staying in shape physically and mentally is not as easy as it seems during the off season. Depends on whats going on in one's life. There is really no good excuse. You just have to do it, to make the best of opportunities. Playing alot of volleyball in a pretty competitive league and shooting alot. Great for hand eye coordination and fun zeroing in various weapons. IDPA matches are a hoot too.
Riding at the Northeast Florida MW riders day at Jennings was a blast. Many BMW riders and others were there to learn. There is so much comprehension you can learn before you even put your helmet on. The monkey see monkey do is not the best approach on the track. If one cannot understand why the instructor is on a certain part of the track or has their body in a certain position, then they will not learn as easily, and it's not the safest. I look forward to riding again with that club in the near future!
My team and i have received alot of responses about trackdays and private training days and we are looking into more of them at Jennings or Roebling Road. Frank Kinsey runs a great school at one of my favorite tracks, Roebling Road Raceway. There are also very good track day instructors I have met out there that are dedicated to paying riders, members or not, and give them the time and experience for a great day. Bill Sink is one of them from TPM and DJ here in the south from NESBA. Those two guys stand out due to their consistancy on and off the track.
The Pirelli Tire Test at Daytona is getting closer. After having much success on Pirelli race tires, now there is further opportunity to push them. For this test at Daytona I will be riding the new BMW HP 2 Sport. The much needed seat time and ability to further develop machine and rubber is awesome.
Ok well hey, gonna get going. Many thanks to the ultra supportive emails and calls for what we have built here. Keeping the eye on the future and staying positive!
